Back in Roman times, they had criers standing out on the street corners, talking about the news and doing marketing.
And you can just do the same thing today and get great results, can’t you? No, of course you can’t. Marketing changes constantly.
We had print marketing for several 100 years, and that has really ingrained a lot of companies into doing marketing a certain way. But marketing is constantly changing, especially now with the Internet. Can you guess what the biggest marketing avenues are right now?
And what does YouTube have to do with SEO? Well, YouTube has as SEO in it. And of course, YouTube is run by Google, although their search engine is completely different. But Google puts YouTube videos on their search engine as well.
Doing YouTube marketing, the ads you can skip, is becoming bigger and bigger for all sorts of industries. I just had a client that market a book on YouTube, and we did a pretty darn good job with doing it.
At one point, we were getting up to 400 views of the video a day with a limited budget. And so, YouTube marketing really ups your game. And I use YouTube ads to do that. And I’m getting thousands of people going to that simply from my YouTube ads. And they’re very inexpensive right now, I am surprised at how inexpensive they are.
Think about what you’re not doing in your marketing. Where are you not going? Where do you see your competition going? Do you look at them and say, “well, they’re idiots. Why would they do it that way?” Well, maybe there’s a reason for it. Start looking at where you’re not going in your marketing. And you can use SEO with that because even YouTube works off of keywords.

Where are you not marketing? So I didn’t think about YouTube for marketing much until I had Tom Antion on this podcast ( number 20). And part of what he talked about was YouTube advertising and he has a great insights.
I didn’t realize that you could spend three cents an ad on YouTube. Three cents is nothing. When is the last time you did a Google ad for three cents a click, or even a Facebook ad for three cents? It just doesn’t happen anymore.
So doing it on YouTube for three cents is amazing. But maybe YouTube isn’t your thing. Maybe it’s something else. Maybe you have Facebook ads or Twitter or Tik Tok. Look at where you’re not advertising and try it out, spend a little bit of money; you don’t even have to spend a lot of money. If you’re doing three cents a click, you spend $1 a day, that’s still what, 30 people 40 people that are clicking a day. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to start determining whether or not is going to be a good return on investment.
