Say {Write} What?

Writing is fun and exciting.

Everybody has a story to tell and there is a great deal of enjoyment in seeing it come to life on the page, unless the ideas in your mind don’t translate to paper. Sometimes it feels like the words are stuck in your throat and you look at a blank screen wondering why your fingers stopped working.

But there are things you can to do help start the process. If you don’t know what to write, write that. Seriously, write “I don’t know what to write,” over and over until other words start coming out. The act of typing on the keyboard could help your brain to take action.

Write about your day. What did you do yesterday? How boring (or exciting) was it? If you did nothing, make something up. What would you have done if you could have?

The point is, write. Tell your brain you are going to continue to write drivel until it releases the good stuff and eventually it will.
